CLARENDON WALK IS HELD ANNUALLY THE 2ND OR 3RD SUNDAY IN OCTOBER
The Annual Walkathon is a joint JBBP and Second Community event held in October which serves as a fundraiser for both programs.
Clarendon students secure pledges from family and friends either by flat donation or as a pledge per lap. On Walkathon day, students have 2 hours to complete as many laps as possible. A DJ spins inspiring tunes and a water station is provided. Most students complete 16 – 32 laps (4 – 8 MILES!). Once the last lap is counted, students and their families enjoy lunch followed by team games.
Students with high fundraising results receive trophies; all students receive a ribbon for participating. Awards are also given for the classroom with the most participants and the classroom with the highest total donations.
Second Community students and their families raise over $45,000 each year at the Walkathon!
